"To God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen." (Philippians 4:20). "For Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be glory forever. Amen." (Romans 11:36). The ultimate purpose of life is clearly to bring glory to God now and forever.

And without equivocation, the greatest commandment God has given to His Church is the commandment to love. In this God is glorified!

We are living in accord with the divine purpose when we make the sole objective of our lives the glory of God. To all practical intents and purposes, that requires the believer to have an active love for God, worshipping Him with our whole being and to love others as we love ourselves. In the words of our Lord Jesus, directed not just to His immediate audience then, but also to every believer today:

" You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbour as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”(Mark 12:30-31)

It is the will of God that all His children live the kind of life that is both controlled and stimulated by same kind of love that motivated Him to send Jesus into the world to redeem us. It is this same supreme and selfless love that inspired Jesus Himself to willing and sacrificially give up His life on the cross for our sins.

In God's love for us and through us, the divine purpose finds true expression. Love never fails and the purpose of God for us will always prevail!

Be encouraged today by your knowledge of God’s will and, by doing His will, prove that you know Him and love Him. We serve the God of purpose, His church is born of His purpose, and SWIC are a people of divine purpose. We declare 2016 our year of Divine Purpose, and our purpose is to glorify God with our lives and in everything we do.

As we give ourselves willingly and obediently to embody the ultimate purpose of God for our existence, I am fully persuaded that our heavenly Father will release for our enjoyment all the goodness of His purpose, for "there has He commanded the blessing".

Beloved, be filled with grace and peace through the knowledge of God our Father!

I wish you a powerful, prosperous and purposeful 2016!

Much love,

Pastor Victor Ubani
